The estimated more
than 200 Genus of this plants are trees, shrubs and succulent plants such as
Banbury (Allamanda sp.), Luntom (Plumeria sp.),
Pangpuy (Catharanthus sp.), Rumphure (Thevetia sp. ). Most of the
Adenium species occur in the tropical area.
Chuan-chom,
another Thai name called “ Lantom Yawa” is a native plant of the eastern
Africa in Tanzania, Kenya and Uganda. It is a tolerated succulent which can grow
in desert so it is named “ Desert Rose”.

Stem: The
succulent and cylinder bottle shape ( caudiciform) stem of the plant has
smooth type of texture with gray-green color, un uniform branching. The base of stem ( caudex): called “Khode” looks swollen turgid under the ground which is harder than other parts of the plant . Cordex is a storage of excessing Carbohydrates. It has a minute part of wood. Caudex formation will develop in a good cultivation. Roots: Fibrous roots are very small and branched. leaf type, arrangement whorled, obovate, oblanceolate, linear. Leaf apex: retuse, obtuse, acute or truncate apex. Leaf margin, entire, serrate and smooth or undurate rim, flat or curly with wax or hair. Pedicel short. Leaf sheet thick and flat, color dark green. |

Flower form corymb, salver,
trumpet or funnel form. 5 petals. Sometimes 6 petals flower maybe found.
Color of flower is pink, red or white ( not usually to
find). The flowers are gorgeous blooming throughout the year. The main
color of Thai hybrid are red, pink, white and maroon. The composition of
