Plants susceptibility depends on its vitality, the vigor of the disease, and the suitability of the environment to the disease. The grower must know and understand how the conditions effect the plant. Adenium diseases are
1. Rot ; The cause is a fungus named "Phytophthora sp."
Caudex softens; sheds bark . After infection the wood color changes to brown or black - brown and smells. It is easy to see the spor spreading around the wound. Causes are : Soil texture too tight (packed), poor drainage, i.e.., water does not flow out at the holes in the bottom of the pot; and over fertilization.

There are three kinds of insect that most affect Adenium. That are ;
1. Thrips : Thrips occur in dry air, or when there has been no rain for some time, or when the environment has been hot with high humidity. Both the nymph and the small, brown color adult can damage the plant. Thrips cause most damage, usually to young parts such as tip, plumu and young flowers, by chewing plant tissue in a long line and sucking the water out of the xylem. The chewed tissue line turns white, then wilt and curling changed to brown color.
2 Mealy bug : The mealy bug has a soft for body look like powder which emits a sweet juice that attracts ants. Ants transport the nymph and mealy bug eggs bascdes from black mold food decreasing the plant photosynthesis area.
3 White fly : White fly is a small in size, thin,and naturally white. Adult has two pairs of wings. It occurred in hot and dry atmosphere. White fly sucks the plant's sap, especially on leaf and underside. The leaf will curl, stop growing, turn yellow and drop off.
4. Worm : Normally we found Deilephila nerii L. in the damage area such as tip, young flowers and young leaves.
